GLENWOOD COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT CLASSIFIED STAFF JOB DESCRIPTION Position: Transportation Secretary Qualifications:

• Knowledge of streets and rural roads within the Glenwood Community School District. • Knowledge of basic typing skills, computer word processing, database, and spreadsheet. • Ability to apply public relations skills effectively and utilize oral and written channels of communication. • Knowledge and experience in various principles of transportation dispatching and routing. • Ability to take initiative; is a self-starter and works independently. • Provide an acceptable criminal records check. Reports To:Director of Operations Consults With:All Administrators/Support Staff, Operations and Transportation Administrative Assistants, Bus Drivers, Mechanic, Teachers, Community Members Position Goal:To assist the Transportation Department in developing orderly procedures and processes in coordinating safe and effective transportation service for the Glenwood Community School District. Performance Responsibilities:

• Become familiar with the PMI program for all district vehicles. • Maintain Student Health Conditions binders and keep them up to date. • Issue, process, maintain, and follow-up on purchase orders and/or invoices. • Maintain Activity Roster and Driver Blue Sheets • Monitoring parent emails for changes and updates and communicating that information to the drivers, school secretaries, and updating all information in the route sheets. • Will be trained as a back up for TMS, maintaining accurate records of student ridership for SPED and Medicare billing purposes, drug testing, printing ID badges for bus riders and maintaining accurate records of reprints. • Process Stop Arm Violations- watch bus video, complete documentation, provide details to Law Enforcement. • Making note of bus issues for the next day to be handled by the Transportation Administrative Assistant and Director.

• Collecting and processing data necessary to issuance of possible disciplinary actions • Performs other duties as assigned.

General Office Duties:

• Maintain and ensure all routes are up to date with student information in the online routes sheets/driver route books/GPS system/Powerschool. • Assist in ensuring routes are covered when short drivers. • Copying/scanning/filling for the Transportation Department. • Answering phone calls and directing them to the correct personnel or taking rider change messages. • Maintain current record for staff database (driver's license, vehicle insurance, and driver background checks) for use of school vehicles. • Performs other duties as assigned. Terms of Employment:10 month position. Wage schedules shall be subject to annual review and modification by Glenwood Board of Education or through the collective bargaining process, where one exists. Evaluation:Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Non-certified Staff Evaluation.
