Position: Assistant Speech & Debate Coach- ECA Assignment: 2026-2027 School Year Reports: High School Principal Summary: The Upper St. Clair High School is seeking an energetic, motivated and team-oriented individual to fill the role of Assistant speech & debate coach Responsibilities:
• Attend 2-3 Practices/week after school
• Lead students in enhancing communication skills, fostering critical thinking, building confidence, and preparing effectively for competition
• Coach speech, debate, and rhetoric events during practice
• Judge Saturday tournaments
• Ride the bus with the team on Saturdays
• Lead students during Saturday tournaments
• Attend postseason tournaments/travel with the team (where appropriate)
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Experience leading and/or participating in Speech and Debate events that support the student experience;
• Must possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, be accommodating and adaptable, and have excellent team-building capabilities;
• Ability to work collaboratively with the Head coach of the Speech and Debate team, the High School Activities Office staff, and the High School team.
