QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in education or related field. Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of five years of successful experience in education.
• Strong understanding of the community schools strategy through the Blueprint for Maryland's Future.
• Experience with MTSS implementation and intervention planning.
• Experience serving on or leading Student Services Teams.
• Experience working with diverse student populations and families.
RESPONSIBILITIES Home Instruction Program Coordination · Coordinate and oversee all district Home Schooling applications and compliance. · Review applications and supporting documentation for Home Schooling eligibility. · Ensure program implementation complies with Maryland State Department of Education regulations and district procedures. · Coordinate the assignment and support of Home Schooling portfolio reviewers. · Serve as liaison among families, schools, and district personnel regarding Home Schooling eligibility and compliance. · Monitor student participation, progress, and transitions back to public school programs. · Maintain required records, reporting, and program documentation. · Provide training and guidance to school personnel regarding Home Schooling procedures. Student Services Team (SST) Support · Provide guidance and technical assistance to SST Chairs and school-based teams. · Support schools in implementing SST procedures with fidelity. · Facilitate problem-solving processes for students experiencing behavioral, attendance, or social-emotional difficulties. · Assist teams in selecting appropriate interventions and developing action plans. · Support the review and monitoring of intervention data and outcomes. · Help ensure consistency of SST processes across all schools. · Develop tools, templates, and resources to support SST effectiveness. Intervention Resource Development · Develop and maintain a district intervention resource bank. · Research evidence-based intervention strategies and programs. · Create guidance documents, implementation tools, and training materials. · Support schools in differentiating interventions based on student needs. · Coordinate professional learning opportunities related to MTSS and intervention practices. · Share best practices across schools and departments. Collaboration and Consultation · Collaborate with administrators, counselors, social workers, school psychologists, nurses, PPWs, and other student support personnel. · Assist with district initiatives related to attendance, behavior, wellness, school climate, and student success. · Support continuous improvement efforts through data analysis and stakeholder feedback. Other Duties · Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of School Climate and Safety.
