About this role

Job SummaryYou will serve as an ENGINEERING TECH in the Organization and Employee Development Branch (228) under Process Controls Division (220), Engineering and Planning Department (EPD) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

QualificationsYour resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience driving recruiting initiatives, tracking new hires through the onboarding pipeline, and directing the training and professional development of new employees. Experience developing, arranging, and moderating seminars and providing guidance for students to include conducting lectures and participating in panel discussions. Experience assisting in the planning and developing of training curriculums. Experience utilizing written and verbal communication skills in an administrative function, such as making plans, assigning work, setting objectives, and policy and procedure development. Experience using engineering knowledge in relation to overhaul, repair, maintenance, modification, modernization, testing, and operation of various complex system types. Major DutiesYou will provide information and advice regarding training to engineers and engineering technicians.You will manage multiple complex engineering design projects and studies to meet command requirements.You will plan, organize, and accomplish a training program that provides skills common to all technical and professional engineers in the department.You will prepare reports and brief supervisor on status of current projects.
