Job SummaryThe Department of Commerce, Office of the Secretary (OS), is hiring Budget Analysts for a shared announcement across the Office of Budget and the Office of Financial Management. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. NOTE: These positions will be filled under both the General Schedule and the Department of Commerce Alternative Personnel System (CAPS) at the ZA-4 level, which encompasses the GS-13/14 grade levels. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 (or equivalent pay band) level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as: Budget Administration (Formulation & Execution, etc.) Financial Management (Systems Reporting, Internal Controls, Advisory Services, etc.) Policy Analysis (Legislative Review, Standard Operating Procedures, Impact Studies, etc.) Program Evaluation (Performance Metrics, Cost-Benefit Analysis, Strategic Recommendations, etc.) Overstating your qualifications and/or experience in your application materials or application questionnaire may result in your removal from consideration.
