Job SummaryYou will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) as the Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services (CANES) Installation Lead in the Network Installation and Support Branch of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV NEWPORT RI. The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $156,715).
QualificationsYour resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: knowledge of Submarine Non-Propulsion Electronic Systems and Submarine Network Systems. Proven ability to analyze problems and developing options and recommendations. Established skill in leading and coordinating among installation teams, stakeholders, and external partners. Exceptional ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Major DutiesYou will serve as senior technical and operational lead, directly supporting the CANES Deployment Lead in the planning and execution of CANES installations aboard submarine platforms.You will provide technical leadership in managing competing priorities, resource allocation, and schedule development to ensure the successful completion of multiple concurrent CANES installation events.You will support resource planning, tracking installation milestones, resolving technical, logistical and schedule related issues, and maintain adherence to established installation schedule.You will identify technical requirements as applied to the implementation, management, installation and support of network and enterprise services aboard submarines.You will coordinate communication among installation teams, stakeholders, and external partners (Alteration Installation Team, On-Site Installation Coordinator , Type Commander and Ship’s Force) to ensure mission is met efficiently and effectively.You will leverage advanced technical expertise to support the planning, implementing, securing, and maintaining of submarine network systems.You will work independently on technically complex assignments; this role leverages advanced expertise to execute submarine network system migrations and upgrades with operational impact.You will review and apply technical documentation for installations and providing post-installation support and validation of system functionality following CANES implementation.You will lead the technical lifecycle for submarine network systems, from planning and implementation to security and sustainment.You will interpret and validate all technical documentation for installations, direct comprehensive post-installation acceptance testing, and directing the certification that the system is fully operational and secure.You will generate technical solutions for and direct the execution of the most complex system migrations and upgrades, ensuring mission readiness.
