Ability to use and maintain appropriate tools and equipment. Ability to read, understand, and apply instruction and other materials related to the job. Demonstrated ability to lead or supervise. In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": Experience working in a large-scale kitchen environment with the ability to follow and execute recipes accurately. Ability to operate a computer, read and comprehend all given task and pass the Government Purchases Card Training. Possess a valid ServSafe certification. Applicants meeting ALL criteria will be considered the best qualified and will be referred to the selecting official first. Remaining applicants will be referred for consideration if the certificate (referral list) is returned with no selection.
Major DutiesWorks under the direction of an activity manager, who provides general instructions, standard procedures, and policies, and relies on the incumbent to control work operations and accomplish an adequate quality of work.Serves as a working supervisor over the kitchen work area exercising full supervisory responsibility over work operations.Establishes deadlines, priorities, work sequences, and plans work assignments based on general work schedules, methods and policies set by supervisors.Participates with superiors in the initial planning of current and future work schedules, budget requests, staffing needs and estimates.Assigns tasks to subordinates. Explains work requirements, methods and procedures, instruct subordinates in new procedures. Investigates and determines causes for work related problems such as excessive costs or low productivity.
