Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Developing Others Research Strategic Thinking Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14). Major DutiesServes as the ERDC GSL Technical Director for Military Engineering, Survivability, and Protective Structures and works under the general supervision of the GSL Director.Reviews and executes project / program research and development and direct complex technical programs from planning and marketing through execution and transition to product delivery.Overseas quality and progress of the research; coordinating and integrating the research team both internally and externally and determining acceptance, rejection, or correction of the research products.Leads a highly technical and world class technical work force in new and demanding research areas.Develops and plans research that includes a broad program of highly interdisciplinary and complex theoretical and applied science and engineering programs.Establishes and maintains effective working relationships and communications with internal and external stakeholders.Reviews reports for technical quality and compliance with ERDC and laboratory policy.
