Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must be 18 years of age hold a high school diploma or equivalent, have the ability to speak, read and write English. Must satisfactorily complete a physical examination and get immunizations required by medical examiner. Incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use. Must be able to obtain a Food Handlers Certificate and satisfactorily complete installation, state, and national criminal background check. Must have experience in office work dealing with computers, excel spreadsheets and word programs. Must be knowledgeable and have experience in the nutrition standards of young children. Must possess a valid state drivers license and be able to operate the vehicle in a safe manner. Experience in administrative/clerical work, cashier and accounting skills, and be familiar with USDA guidelines which demonstrates possession of knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the duties posted successful. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
Major DutiesEnsure program compliance with USDA CCAFP, DoD and State guidelines to include menu planning, food purchasing, and preparation. Areas of responsibility include the Child Development Center and Youth Activities as well as Family Child Care. Serves as point of contact for technical advice, training and guidance on State/USDA requirements and food/nutrition information. Collects claim reimbursement forms from providers and calculates reimbursement rate paid to provider on a monthly basis. Reviews menu production records, meal counts, meal components and quantities for accuracy. Overseas the maintenance of records and provides reports to responsible agencies, to include applications, agreements and claims made to the State and CCAFP. Ensures health and sanitation requirements are followed through periodic self-inspection. Ensures family style dining practices are followed and food service program facilitates these practices. Reconciles monthly invoices and billing and creates reports. Must be able to safely drive a passenger van to transport food program supplies to the various activities. Conduct inventory monthly, use computer for all reports and creates and files monthly reports in accordance with USDA Food Program. Must possess maturity and good judgement, like working with small children and their parents. Requires long periods of time continually bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 40 pounds in indoor and outdoor settings. This position has been identified as a Test Designated Position (TDP).
