Local City Driver
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused *Local City Driver* to handle local pickup and delivery operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting freight safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies and applicable transportation regulations.
Responsibilities
* Pick up shipments from customers and transport them to the company yard. * Deliver outbound shipments from the yard to local customers. * Complete thorough *pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections* and properly document any defects or concerns. * Ensure the vehicle is operated in compliance with all applicable *safety regulations, transportation laws, and company policies*. * Follow Hours of Service, load securement, and other applicable commercial vehicle safety requirements. * Ensure freight is properly loaded, secured, and handled safely during transport. * Immediately report vehicle defects, accidents, safety concerns, or compliance issues to management or dispatch. * Complete required paperwork, logs, and delivery documentation accurately and on time. * Maintain professional and courteous communication with customers, dispatch, and yard personnel. * Maintain a clean, safe, and professional company vehicle.
Qualifications
* *Valid Ontario AZ Driver?s Licence is required.* * Clean and acceptable driving record. * Previous local pickup, delivery, or freight experience preferred. * Strong knowledge of commercial vehicle safety requirements and regulations. * Strong reliability, time-management, and customer-service skills. * Ability to safely handle and secure freight as required.
Pay: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
