District of StewartHeavy Equipment OperatorFull time, PermanentIssue Date: August 20, 2026Closing Date: September 3, 2026This is not a desk job.The successful candidate will join a dedicated team that values collaborative, mutual respect, and safe operations.Operators may find themselves running a grader, loader, excavator, snow removal equipment, trucks, or other specialized equipment - sometimes all within the same day.Duties & Responsibilities: Safe and efficient operation of heavy mobile equipment including grading, snow & ice control operations; Supporting roads, drainage systems, and public infrastructure; Routine inspections and preventative maintenance while recording accurate equipment records; Other duties as assigned.Preferred Experience & Attributes: Minimum Class 3 BC Driver's Licence with Air Brake Endorsement (preference given to Class 1 D/L); Current driver's abstract satisfactory to the Employer; Demonstrated experience operating heavy equipment with a strong commitment to workplace safety; Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions; Strong work ethic, reliability, attention to detail and ability to work effectively as part of a team.Assets: Municipal Public Works experience, supporting roads, drainage, water, wastewater & winter maintenance. Occupational First Aid certification. BC Small Water/Wastewater Systems certification considered an asset.
