We are hiring a hands-on Technical Architect for a strategic composable eCommerce platform supporting a major retail and optical client. This 6-month initial contract is remote, inside IR35, with a rate of up to £800 per day and a September 2026 start. The role combines architecture, engineering leadership, and live production support, with a strong focus on commercetools, MACH architecture, TypeScript/Node.js, and Microsoft Azure. The platform environment includes React, Next.js, Azure Functions, Azure App Services, Cosmos DB, Contentful, Algolia, Talon.One, Adyen, Cloudflare, GitHub CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, OpenTelemetry, and Splunk. We are looking for someone who can help transition technical ownership from an incumbent supplier while improving reliability, resilience, and engineering best practice.
