Requirements
- Active, transferable DV security clearance
- Sole British nationality
- Strong experience in a Senior Test Engineer, Test Lead or equivalent role
- Broad understanding of the software testing lifecycle and test methodologies
- Experience developing test plans, schedules, test cases and measurable success criteria
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including test metrics and defect management
- Experience working with virtualised environments
- Experience testing air-gapped systems
- Excellent communication, planning and stakeholder management skills
- Desirable: Experience with test automation tools and frameworks
- Desirable: Knowledge of ITIL service management processes
- Desirable: Experience in platform or infrastructure testing environments
- Desirable: Strong client-facing and consulting skills
- Desirable: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively across technical teams
Responsibilities
- Own test coverage and ensure test cases are prioritised across testing phases
- Develop and manage verification and validation plans, schedules and test strategies
- Deliver manual and automated testing across platform services and user-facing functionality
- Define and analyse test metrics, using results to identify risks and drive improvements
- Implement iterative testing approaches to identify and resolve defects early
- Raise and manage engineering tickets for defects and technical issues
- Produce regular test reports, management information and performance metrics
- Communicate testing risks, findings and recommendations to technical teams and senior stakeholders
- Work with platform management and engineering teams to ensure quality standards are maintained

We are seeking an experienced Senior Test Engineer / Test Lead to ensure the quality, reliability, performance and security of an enterprise Platform as a Service environment. This Bristol-based role is an 8–9 month contract, with extensions likely, paying up to £575 per day inside IR35. You will work closely with technical teams and senior stakeholders, supporting successful platform delivery. We offer an opportunity to take ownership of quality assurance across a complex platform environment and drive robust testing practices and continuous improvement throughout the delivery lifecycle.
