About this role

Job summary

The Grove Medical Centre is seeking a practice nurse to join the team on a full-time basis to support health promotion, chronic disease management, and treatment of minor illnesses.

Duties will include:

Deliver routine nursing care Perform cervical screening (smears) Carry out immunisations and vaccinations (adult and childhood) Undertake health checks Monitor and manage long-term conditions (e.g. asthma, diabetes, hypertension) Conduct ECGs and other basic diagnostic testsAssess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care Provide advice on general health, wellbeing, and disease prevention Support patients in managing chronic conditions Promote healthy lifestyle choices (e.g. smoking cessation, weight management Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records Use clinical systems to document consultations and care plans Ensure compliance with practice protocols and guidelines Participate in audits and quality improvement initiatives Follow infection prevention and control procedures Ensure safe storage and handling of vaccines and medications Maintain a clean, safe clinical environment

Main duties of the job All applicants should have the following qualifications, registrations, skills and experience:

A relevant nursing degree Current NMC registration with an active PIN Previous experience of working within primary care Maintain NMC registration and adhere to the code of conduct Participate in ongoing training and professional development Work collaboratively with GPs, healthcare assistants, and other staff Stay up to date with clinical guidelines and best practice Knowledge of SystmOne desirable
