About this role

Call for Registered Clinical Counsellors and Registered Social Workers

The Violence Prevention Programs (VPP) is seeking qualified and experienced Registered Clinical Counsellors and Social Workers to join our contractor roster.

Some Projects in VPP focus on supporting individuals and couples in developing healthier relationships, stronger communication skills, and more constructive ways of navigating relationship challenges. A key component of the project is psychoeducation for couples, with a focus on understanding healthy relationships, communication, emotional awareness, conflict resolution, boundaries, and strategies for building positive and respectful relationships.

The project will also include group sessions for men focused on managing difficult emotions and developing healthier ways of responding to emotional and interpersonal challenges. These groups will provide opportunities for participants to build emotional awareness and regulation skills, explore patterns of behaviour and communication, and develop practical strategies for responding to difficult situations in healthier and more constructive ways.

Roster members may be called upon to review or develop session content, facilitate or co-facilitate group sessions, provide counselling support during sessions, and support the overall emotional safety and well-being of participants. Where appropriate, participants may also be referred to roster counsellors for specialized or individual support based on their needs. Assignments will be offered on an as-needed basis and will depend on project requirements, qualifications, experience, and availability. Being placed on the roster does not guarantee a minimum number of hours or sessions. However, it provides an opportunity for counsellors or social workers to contribute their expertise to Violence Prevention Programs on a flexible, occasional basis.
