Job Description: The Intramural Sports Program Manager of Sports assists in overseeing the Intramural Sports program and activities by:

60% - Overseeing Intramural Sports Participants and Teams • Planning, promoting, executing, and evaluating the daily operations of the Intramural Sports program. • Organizing Intramural Sports events including registration, league building, equipment acquisition, and evaluation of over 30 sports and events. • Serving as the team liaison for over 800 teams and 5,000 annual participants. • Data entry to include maintenance of season and tournament standings. • Reporting and replying to incidents of unsportsmanlike conduct through established procedures Assisting in facility scheduling of the 144,087 square foot Ambler Student Recreation Fitness Center. • Answering and responding to inquiries about Intramural Sports in a professional and courteous fashion through phone conversations and email. 15% - Scheduling • Creating and distributing playing schedules for more than 1,200 annual games. • Assisting with the creation of the Supervisors and Officials schedules. 15% - Leading Staff Meetings and Trainings • Assisting in the development and evolution of the Intramural Sports Policies and Procedures. • Assisting in Intramural Sports and Recreation Services Staff Trainings. • Leading portions of the Bi-Weekly Intramural Sports Supervisor Meetings. • Leading portions of the Intramural Sports Supervisor Training. • Leading portions of the Intramural Officials Trainings. 5% - Supervising and Officiating All 6 Team Sports as Needed

5% - Other Duties as Assigned

Required Qualifications: • Strong written skills as demonstrated on application material. • Prior experience in team sports. • Current CPR/AED Certification or willingness to obtain within the first month of employment. • Current NFHS Concussion In Sports Certification or willingness to obtain within the first month of employment.

Preferred Qualifications: • Experience supervising others. • Experience officiating team sports. • Availability to work on Sundays. • IMLeagues.com online software experience. • When2Work online employee scheduler software experience. • Experience as a Student Intramural Sports Supervisor at The University of Kansas.

Position Overview: Intramural Sports is seeking a dynamic Student Program Manager of Sports to begin in the fall 2026 semester. This position will have supervision from the Assistant Director for Intramural Sports and will work closely with the Recreation Services professional staff. This opportunity will offer the student with a comprehensive and engaging experience to further enhance their career and professional development. Two Program Managers of Sports assist in the daily operations of the Intramural Sports program which include organizing events, communication with participants and staff, and entering data into various software programs.

Working in collaboration with other Intramural Sports Program Managers, this individual is also responsible for creating, executing, and evaluating over 30 sports and events. A Student Intramural Sports Program Manager of Sports must maintain a complete knowledge of the Intramural Sports program. This individual will maintain daily office hours Monday – Friday and may work weekend hours on a limited basis.

Position Requirements: During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: (1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or (2) be pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or (3) be enrolled in summer session or (4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).

Availability to work two office hours per day Monday – Friday during regular business hours, with some weekend hours required.

Employment Conditions: (1) Student employees are not eligible for remote work arrangements unless an exception is approved by the unit leadership and HR.

(2) This is an hourly/non-exempt position. A student employee cannot hold an hourly/non-exempt position and a salaried/exempt graduate or undergraduate position (GRA/GTA/GA/RUA/RGA) concurrently.
