Job Title: Mechanical DesignerJob DescriptionJoin our dynamic team as a Mechanical Designer, where you will support 2-3 engineers across multiple programs, including radar and pods. This role requires you to work across 1-4 programs simultaneously and participate in daily or weekly project briefs with your manager. The position focuses heavily on concept design, modeling, and fast-paced prototyping, with less emphasis on documentation. Additionally, you will support sustaining engineering efforts and mentor junior designers, acting as a valuable team resource. Responsibilities • Support 2-3 engineers across various programs such as radar and pods. • Work on 1-4 programs simultaneously. • Participate in daily or weekly project briefs with the manager. • Focus on concept design, modeling, and fast-paced prototyping. • Support sustaining engineering efforts. • Mentor and train junior designers, acting as a team resource. Essential Skills • Proficiency in Siemens NX. • Extensive experience in GD&T. • Experience in aerospace and defense, preferably with flight hardware/products. • Proficiency in PLM - Team Center. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience required (Bachelor’s degree accepted). • Eligible for security clearance (U.S. Citizen, ITAR compliant). • 5-7+ years of experience for mid-level positions; 10+ years for senior positions. • Experience with additional CAD tools like Creo and SolidWorks is helpful. • Aerospace and defense experience is required, with a preference for flight hardware/product experience. Work EnvironmentJoin a team of approximately 10 members, including senior, mid-level, and entry-level designers. The role involves collaboration across multiple engineering teams, offering a broader scope than similar roles. You will work in an environment that encourages the use of various CAD software, with a primary focus on NX, and fosters professional growth through mentoring opportunities. Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Poway, CA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $71000.00 - $109885.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
