About this role
Finance Director
North Yorkshire
Upto £100k | 4 Days Onsite
We're working with a growing business that's built a sizeable portfolio of assets across the UK. With an active pipeline of projects, and ambitious plans for future growth, they're now looking to appoint a Finance Director to strengthen the leadership team.
This is a newly created position.
Not because somebody has left.
Not because there's a problem to fix.
But because the business has reached a stage where it needs an experienced finance leader to help shape what's next.
You'll work closely with the business owners and senior leadership team, combining strategic input with a hands-on approach to running the finance function.
If you're the type of Finance Director who still enjoys getting into the detail when needed, you'll probably feel quite at home here.
What you'll be doing
You'll lead a small finance team while taking responsibility for the wider financial direction of the business.
That includes:
Leading and developing the finance functionFinancial planning, forecasting and cash flow managementProviding commercial insight to support business decisionsSupporting acquisitions, investment opportunities and growth initiativesManaging relationships with banks, lenders and other external stakeholdersOverseeing a multi-entity group structureStrengthening reporting, controls and financial processesActing as a trusted adviser to the owners and leadership team
In short, you'll have a genuine voice around the table and the opportunity to influence key strategic decisions.
What they're looking for
You may already be operating as a Finance Director.
You might be a Head of Finance looking for your first FD role.
Either way, you'll need the confidence to operate at a senior level whilst remaining hands-on when required.
You'll likely bring:
Experience managing complex group structuresStrong cash flow, funding and financing expertiseExposure to acquisitions, investments or M&A activityExperience working with lenders, investors or funding partnersThe ability to balance strategic thinking with day-to-day operational involvement
Experience working within a private, owner-managed or family-backed business would be advantageous.
Why consider it?
Because opportunities to genuinely influence a growing business are becoming increasingly rare.
This is a chance to step into a visible leadership role, work directly with decision-makers and help drive the next phase of growth in a successful and ambitious organisation.
No layers of corporate bureaucracy.
No endless reporting lines.
Just a commercially focused Finance Director role where your input will genuinely matter.
