Job Title: ScientistJob DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated Scientist to perform analytical studies to determine the concentration of analytes in various biological and environmental matrices. This role involves sample handling, data processing, and maintaining lab equipment to monitor potential human exposures effectively.Responsibilities
• Conduct analytical studies on biological and environmental matrices to monitor potential human exposures. • Handle and process samples; prepare chemical standards and samples for extraction and analysis. • Maintain cleanliness of the work area and operate standard lab equipment such as homogenizers, centrifuges, pipettes, balances, and pH meters. • Manage and operate sophisticated analytical instrumentation as trained. • Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during analysis. • Process data and assist with basic report preparation, ensuring Quality Control (QC) of numerical data. • Complete daily logs and equipment notebooks. • Evaluate data and assist in preparing final reports, ensuring QC and interpretation of all data. • Serve in roles such as Principle Analytical Investigator (PAI), Analytical Study Director, Sample Management Supervisor, or Report Writer. • Perform PAI and Study Director duties, including protocol preparation, data collection, data analysis, interpretation of results, and report preparation. • Defend study conduct if challenged by regulatory authorities or external customers. • Provide critical study information to lab personnel and sponsor representatives. • Manage a small team of 1-4 people. • Tear down and set up systems, tune, and analyze data. Essential Skills
• Hands-on experience with LCMS, analytical chemistry, and Sciex instruments. • Experience with Sciex Analyst and OS software. • Team leadership experience or a track record towards leadership roles. • Advanced knowledge in data processing and minimal supervision. • Experience with LC-MS/MS, GC-MS/MS, LC-MS, and GC-MS instrumentation. • Proficient computer skills with current database and software applications. Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD Degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry highly preferred. • Three or more years of direct or indirect experience with Principal Analytical Investigator (PAI) and/or Analytical Study Director duties preferred. • Preferably an organic chemistry background. • Mass spectrometry and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) experience. Work EnvironmentWork in a small lab located in Stillwell, Kansas, with approximately 10 people on site. The role reports to one of the two leads. Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, from 7:30 to 4:30 or 8:00 to 5:00, with occasional Saturday work, which will be adjusted with the weekday schedule. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Stilwell, KS. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $33.65 - $40.86/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
