About this role

Job Title: Systems EngineerJob DescriptionThis Systems Engineer role focuses on decomposing complex aerospace and scientific hardware applications, re-architecting them into modular and efficient designs, and producing clear, comprehensive documentation. You will work across a range of space-related domains, including spacecraft orbits, anomalies, space weather, and GNSS, contributing to innovative missions in very low Earth orbit and beyond. Responsibilities • Decompose aerospace and scientific hardware applications into detailed, well-documented functional and data flows. • Analyze spacecraft orbits and related dynamics to support mission design, operations, and anomaly resolution. • Apply expertise in spacecraft anomalies to identify issues, support root-cause analysis, and propose corrective actions. • Perform ionospheric modeling and related analyses to understand and predict space environment impacts on spacecraft and signals. • Contribute to electromagnetic interference (EMI) attribution activities by analyzing data and supporting mitigation strategies. • Support radar and remote sensing applications that characterize space weather and the broader space environment. • Work with GNSS and GPS applications to assess performance, signal integrity, and environmental effects on navigation systems. • Re-architect and design applications to be more modular, efficient, and elegant, improving maintainability and scalability. • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate miniaturized sensors and instrumentation into space and ground systems. • Produce clear, accurate documentation of system architectures, design decisions, and analysis results. • Contribute to mission and system-level trade studies that consider orbit dynamics, space weather, and operational constraints. • Support continuous improvement of engineering processes and tools related to orbit analysis, modeling, and system design. Essential Skills • Orbit dynamics expertise, including spacecraft orbit analysis and related modeling. • Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) knowledge with at least 2+ years of relevant experience. • Broad space weather experience, including understanding of ionospheric effects and space environment interactions. • Hands-on experience with spacecraft orbit analysis in operational or mission design contexts. • Experience with GPS and GNSS applications, including performance and environmental impact analysis. • Strong knowledge of the space environment and its impact on spacecraft systems and signals. • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Aerospace Engineering or a closely related technical field. • A minimum of 4+ years of professional experience in aerospace engineering, systems engineering, or a related discipline. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience working with miniaturized sensors and instrumentation for space or ground-based platforms. • Background in radar or remote sensing applications related to space weather and atmospheric characterization. • Ability to design modular, efficient, and elegant system architectures and software/hardware application flows. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills applied to complex aerospace systems and anomalies. • Ability to produce clear, structured documentation for technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams. Work EnvironmentThis position operates in an office environment supporting advanced small satellite and space instrumentation programs. You will work closely with engineering and mission teams using modern analysis tools, modeling software, and documentation platforms. The culture emphasizes innovation in the "New Space" sector, focusing on miniaturized sensors and cutting-edge missions in very low Earth orbit. Work is primarily conducted during standard business hours, with collaboration and communication playing a central role in day-to-day activities.
