About this role

Job summary

We are an extremely friendly, efficient, high-achieving, and forward-thinking training practice, and we are seeking to appoint two full-time Care Coordinators to join our team.

We are looking for enthusiastic and committed individuals who are passionate about delivering a high-quality service. Our patient list size is approximately 13,700, and we operate across two sites located within two miles of each other.

We are part of the Stevenage South Primary Care Network (PCN), comprising five surgeries and serving a population of approximately 65,000 patients. Dedicated PCN staff are in place to provide additional support.

You will be working in a friendly, dynamic, and supportive environment. The post is based in the leafy town of Stevenage, with free parking available and local shops within walking distance.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidates will work as an integral member of the practice team. A significant proportion of the role (approximately 25 hours per week) will involve reception duties, with the remaining time covering a variety of administrative tasks, including complex clinical reporting and managing triage. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, with excellent communication and organisational skills, and strong attention to detail.

Job Purpose:

To provide support to the administration/care coordinator team, ensuring an efficient, professional, and calm working environment is maintained and adhered to at all times

To demonstrate and promote the standards expected by the practice and create the energy and enthusiasm for the service delivery and business as a whole

To deliver all related functions in the admin department, to support and help cover the team in staff absence

To set and ensure working standards/targets are met

To project positive and respectful representation to all patients, visitors, and outside agencies in person or via the telephone

Joint responsibility for the production, performance, and quality standards within the administration team

To provide an efficient and calm working environment for the smooth running of the reception area.

To assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare provider.

To provide general assistance to the practice team and patients through good communication.

To project positive and respectful representation to all patients, visitors, and outside agencies in person or via the telephone.

To provide a comprehensive repeat prescribing support service to doctors, patients, associate medical specialists, and nurses.

To always uphold and maintain practice and patient confidentiality.

Qualifications Essential

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Ability to produce accurate, clear and professional written correspondence. Good typing skills.
