About this role
We are seeking an experienced File Handler to join our Industrial Disease team, managing a predominately litigated caseload of Noise Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL) claims. Working within a supportive and collaborative team environment, you will be responsible for progressing claims from inception through to resolution, applying effective litigation strategies to achieve the best possible outcomes for clients while maintaining profitability and service excellence. Reviewing documentation, evidence, medical records and personnel records, and preparing detailed reports. Handling all aspects of disclosure and ensuring compliance with procedural requirements. Conducting investigations, liaising with Insureds, and obtaining witness statements. Instructing and liaising with Counsel and expert witnesses. Undertaking legal and technical research to support case strategy and claim progression. Drafting a range of legal documents, correspondence, pleadings and reports. Attending conferences, court hearings and trials with Counsel where required. Managing routine correspondence and maintaining effective communication with all parties. Attending court appointments and ensuring adherence to court directions and timetables. Liaising with and taking instructions from Insurers and Insureds, providing clear and timely updates. Progressing claims in line with agreed litigation strategies to achieve the best possible outcomes for clients. Maintaining accurate file management and ensuring work is conducted efficiently and profitably. Ensuring compliance with the SRA Standards and Regulations at all times. Demonstrating and promoting the Keoghs Values in all aspects of work and client service. Applicants should have previous experience handling NIHL claims and be confident managing a litigated caseload within a supportive team environment. Working Hours 35 hours per week Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm with 1 unpaid hour for lunch. Primary location for this role is Birmingham Office Or Bolton Office
