Job Overview: As a Senior Portfolio Manager - Alternative Assets at Emirates NBD, your role is to assist the senior members of the team in the management of direct and indirect (fund-of-funds) investments focused on Private Credit . Tasks to include due diligence, deployment, monitoring, governance, risk oversight, and coordination across structuring, operations, and reporting functions. Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct investment due diligence (DD) on private asset managers, direct deals across alternative assets focused on private credit.
• Assess track record, strategy alignment, legal and operational frameworks of fund managers.
• Conduct on-site visits, reference checks, and prepare DD reports for internal stakeholders.
• Monitor performance of underlying fund managers and direct real estate investments.
• Analyze periodic reports, financial statements, and KPIs; flag deviations from expected performance.
• Maintain updated dashboards and performance summaries for internal use.
• Monitor and track capital deployment timelines in line with approved allocation plans.
• Coordinate with fund managers, legal counsel, and internal teams for smooth execution.
• Assist in preparation of key documents such as PPMs, subscription agreements, side letters, and SPAs.
• Support governance processes including quarterly portfolio reviews, internal controls, and compliance protocols.
• Ensure adherence to investment policies, limits, and framework across portfolio.
• Liaise with senior members of the team for communication with internal committees and auditors for transparency and control.
• Identify, track, and mitigate risks related to portfolio exposures, leverage, concentration, and liquidity.
• Work with risk teams to model stress scenarios and establish early warning indicators.
• Contribute towards development of a pipeline of direct deals and private fund opportunities across geographies and sectors.
• Develop internal thematic research to support investment decisions.
• Help Senior PM in preparation of high-quality investment memos for Investment Committee and Board approval.
• Synthesize complex investment ideas into clear and concise documents with risk-return analysis and recommendations.
• Conduct or support ODD reviews on private asset funds, including operational systems, governance, controls, valuation, and compliance processes.
• Collaborate with external consultants or internal risk/operations teams for thorough assessments.
• Contribute to the design of new fund products or investment vehicles aligned with market demand and internal strategy.
• Prepare business cases, support fund marketing, and liaise with external stakeholders (e.g. distributors, regulators).
• Support structuring of fund-of-funds vehicles, co-investment programs, and direct deals.
• Help Senior PM in working with legal, tax, and structuring advisors to optimize fund terms and governance models.
• Draft or review term sheets, JV agreements, and shareholder agreements for direct investments.
• Act as liaison between investment and operations teams to ensure seamless execution and ongoing management.
• Support investor reporting, fund audits, regulatory filings, and accounting reviews.
• Ensure alignment on NAV reporting, capital account statements, waterfall calculations, and compliance requirements.
Skills and Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree
• CFA/CA/MBA/CPA
• 5-10 years of experience in private markets (direct or indirect deals / fund-of-funds / co-investments / secondaries / transaction advisory / consulting).
• Prior work experience in Private Credit
• Strong exposure to due diligence, portfolio monitoring, and fund structuring.
• Strong analytical, financial modelling, and presentation skills.
• Understanding of fund documentation, legal structures, offshore tax structures and governance.
