As a Credit Analyst, you’ll play a key role in advancing this mission by providing analytical, operational, and credit administration support to our lending and portfolio teams. Working under the general direction of the Senior Credit Manager, you’ll help support sound lending decisions, effective portfolio management, and the delivery of financing that helps businesses grow and communities thrive across Massachusetts.
What You'll Do
• Underwrite and analyze the creditworthiness of commercial loan and guarantee applicants and assign appropriate credit risk ratings.
• Partner with lenders to prepare loan approval packages, annual reviews, and supporting credit analysis.
• Spread and analyze annual, interim, and projected financial statements for new and existing borrowers.
• Evaluate management, guarantors, industry trends, cash flow, and other key factors that influence credit risk.
• Obtain and review personal credit reports for new and existing borrowers.
• Maintain accurate loan approval and closing records, credit files, and compliance tracking systems.
• Coordinate and track the appraisal request process, including ordering and follow-up.
• Provide responsive analytical and administrative support to the lending and portfolio teams.
• Contribute to a collaborative, mission-driven environment focused on expanding access to capital for Massachusetts businesses.
What We're Looking For
• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, economics, or a related field, with 3–5 years of experience in credit or financial analysis.
• Commercial underwriting experience, including C&I, commercial real estate, construction, and/or cash flow lending.
• Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate credit analysis and recommendations.
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel; formal credit training preferred.
• Motivated, self-directed professional who thrives in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.
• Ability and willingness to travel within Massachusetts.
