About this role
The Revit Engineer will be responsible for developing, updating, and coordinating Building Information Models (BIM) using Autodesk Revit. The ideal candidate has hands-on Revit modeling experience, a solid understanding of engineering drawings, and the ability to work closely with design and site teams to produce accurate, construction-ready documentation
Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain 2D/3D Revit models for MEP systems (HVAC/ductwork, electrical power and lighting, plumbing/fire protection) and ELV systems (IT/data networks, CCTV, audio-visual, and security), in line with project specifications and industry standards.
• Convert conceptual designs, single-line diagrams, schematics, and engineering drawings into detailed, accurate Revit models across all MEP and ELV disciplines.
• Model IT/data infrastructure such as structured cabling, data racks, and telecom rooms within the Revit environment.
• Model CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, and other security system layouts, devices, and containment.
• Model audio-visual (AV) systems, including AV equipment, cabling, and containment routes, where required by the project.
• Coordinate MEP and ELV models across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, IT, and security disciplines, and with architectural and structural models, to identify and resolve clashes using Revit/Navisworks.
• Prepare and update construction drawings, schedules, and BIM deliverables for MEP and ELV systems throughout the project lifecycle.
• Apply and maintain BIM standards, templates, families, and naming conventions across all MEP and ELV disciplines.
• Create and customize Revit families for MEP and ELV equipment and components, such as AHUs, pumps, panels, fixtures, IT racks, CCTV, AV, and security devices.
• Liaise with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, IT, and security engineers/consultants, designers, and site teams to ensure models reflect current design intent and site conditions.
• Review drawings and models for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with applicable MEP and ELV codes and standards.
• Support quantity take-offs and documentation required for procurement and construction.
• Participate in coordination meetings and clash detection reviews with other project disciplines.
• Maintain version control and proper documentation of all Revit models and drawing revisions.
• This role might require working on the Eastern Standard Time (EST) shift to meet operational and business needs; the E&D engineer may be required to rotate between local office hours and EST hours. Such rotation will be planned and communicated by the company.
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a similar field.
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience working with Autodesk Revit across MEP and/or ELV systems, such as mechanical, electrical, plumbing, IT, CCTV, AV, or security.
• Solid understanding of MEP and ELV building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing/fire protection, IT, CCTV, AV, security) and how they are represented in BIM models.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, single-line diagrams, schematics, and specifications.
• Experience coordinating models across multiple disciplines and resolving design clashes.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality deliverables.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team, on-site.
Preferred Skills:
• Familiarity with Navisworks, AutoCAD MEP, or other BIM/CAD coordination tools.
• Knowledge of relevant MEP and ELV codes/standards (e.g., ASHRAE, NEC, IPC, IEC, TIA/EIA, BICSI, or local equivalents).
• Experience creating custom Revit families and templates for MEP and ELV equipment.
• Prior experience in a consulting, EPC, or engineering services environment covering MEP and ELV systems.
