Position Overview
Created Solutions is seeking an experienced Principal Modeling & Simulation Systems Analyst to support Missile Defense Agency (MDA) modeling and simulation efforts in Huntsville, Alabama. In this role, you will maintain the Model Assessment Limitations Tracker (MALT) and associated technical documentation while supporting the development of system-level modeling and simulation (M&S) requirements for MDA’s distributed M&S federation.
This position requires a strong systems engineering or weapon systems modeling background, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to translate complex physical systems into modeling and simulation requirements.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Update the Model Assessment Limitations Tracker (MALT) with the status of open limitations and watch items at the end of each fiscal quarter.
• Update MALT to document limitations and watch items assessed during ground test events and when items are added, closed, or archived.
• Maintain and update MALT supporting documentation to meet reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with the M&S Requirements team and Missile Defense System (MDS) elements to develop and document Simulation Conceptual Models (SCMs).
• Assist in the development of M&S System Requirements Documents (SRDs).
• Participate in technical interchange meetings and develop associated technical reports, briefs, and documentation.
• Apply Simulation Conceptual Modeling processes to translate physical representations of real-world systems into appropriate abstractions and requirements that support development of the distributed M&S federation.
Required Qualifications
• Active Secret security clearance.
• Master’s degree with 12+ years of relevant experience OR bachelor’s degree with 20+ years of relevant experience.
• Systems engineering and/or weapon systems modeling background supporting complex defense systems.
• Experience supporting the development of system-level modeling and simulation requirements.
• Strong systems-thinking skills and familiarity with defense systems.
• Ability to work effectively with engineering personnel and understand modeling and simulation terminology.
• Understanding of ground test scheduling and the Accreditation Assessment Report and memorandum process.
• Experience applying Simulation Conceptual Modeling (SCM) processes to translate physical systems into appropriate modeling abstractions and technical requirements.
• Expert proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
Desired Qualifications
• Familiarity with DOORS Next Generation (DNG) databases and publishing tools.
• Familiarity with requirements development processes.
• Familiarity with Simulation Conceptual Model processes and tools.
• Familiarity with the Missile Defense System (MDS).
• Background in technical writing and reporting.
• Strong time-management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities and workloads.
