St. John Paul II Catholic High School is excited to offer an Assistant position in our Athletic Department for the 2026-27 school year. The assistant position will provide experience to those who are interested in learning about the administration of high school sports. Alumni of JP2 are encouraged to apply.
• POSITION TITLE: Assistant for Athletic Department
• GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Assistant for the Athletic Department reports directly to the Director of Athletics. Requires an eye for detail, strong organizational skill and the ability to honor and maintain confidentiality in all matters.
• Status: Non -Exempt
• Full-time, with work on some weekends and/or evenings (to start in August of 2026, 35-40 hours per week) 1:00- 9:00 p.m.
• Reports to the Director of Athletics
III. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Catholic Identity and Mission
• Understand, witness and promote the school's mission
• Excellent communication skills, including ability to speak and write in a positive, consistent, and attractive way
Priority Activities
• Assists the Director of Athletics in daily tasks of the department
• Performs record keeping tasks as requested by the Director of Athletics
• Assists in booking transportation for away games/matches
• Assists in organizing and scheduling athletic events
• Assists in set up and execution of athletic events
• Assists visiting teams when they arrive for events
Daily Operations
• Provides support for setting up and preparing for athletic events
• Assists Director of Athletics
• Helps with event planning (Senior NIghts, Athletic Awards)
• Planning team transportation and practice schedules
• Calls AIA officials to confirm attendance
• Helps with a variety of tasks for Athletic Department
Data and Records
• Able to accurately load and verify data into Athletic Database programs
• Assists Director of Athletics in record keeping for uniform inventory
• Tracks and maintains student Athletic Locker Information
• REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Proficient office skills including spreadsheets and gmail
• Desire to learn
• Ability to communicate with kindness and to relate to a variety of persons
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to keep detailed records
• Ability to maintain honor and maintain confidentiality in all matters
• Occasional evening and/or weekend work
