Job Description Mater Dei High School, a Catholic, co-educational, college preparatory high school of the Diocese of Orange has an opening for a Sailing Assistant Coach. This position will start August 24, 2026. The Assistant Sailing Coach position is responsible for supporting and reinforcing the competitive, and sustainable sailing program directed by the Head Coach. This role includes coaching responsibilities, but its primary focus is on the development of the team. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, strong communicator, and experienced leader in the sailing community. Nights, weekends and travel will be required. Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred. Proven experience in competitive sailing and coaching, ideally at the high school, collegiate, or elite club level. Working knowledge of CFJ, C420, ILCA and keelboats, working knowledge of fleet, match and team racing styles and demonstration of understanding of Notice of Race (N.O.R.), Sailing Instructions. Hours: August – June. Hours will vary. Stipend: $26,000 based on experience.
