Description: Shawsheen Valley Technical High School is seeking a Health Assisting Instructor for the 2026-2027 school year. Candidate must hold a 9-14 Health Assisting license from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education (MA DESE) or possess the requirements to become licensed and should have a bachelor's degree or higher with at least 30 credits in subject matter. The candidate must be a registered nurse with current licensure in Massachusetts with at least three years' nursing experience, one year of which must have been in a level II or level III long-term care facility. Certification to instruct AHA BLS CPR and AHA Heartsaver First Aid. A valid SEI (Sheltered English Immersion) Endorsement is preferred (or must be obtained within one year). Candidates should demonstrate strong communication skills, a passion for working with diverse learners, and the ability to integrate industry-aligned tools, technologies, and methods into daily lessons. Candidates must have knowledge of health terminology, radiography, infection control, chairside procedures, dental office operations and both OSHA and CDC standards for dental environments. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a high-quality CTE program that prepares students for both immediate employment and advanced training in the dental field. Job Duties Include (but are not limited to):
• Delivering Chapter 74-aligned curriculum in both theory and shop/field settings.
• Instructing students with engaging lessons that integrate real-world dental office procedures, in a safe, organized, and OSHA-compliant clinical environment.
• Assessing student performance, maintaining accurate records, and providing timely feedback.
• Supervising students during hands-on work, ensuring proper use of tools, machinery, and materials, and ensuring adherence to shop safety protocols.
• Collaborating with colleagues to support student learning and continuous program improvement.
• Participating in advisory board meetings, industry outreach, and relevant professional development.
• Supporting students in developing employability skills, industry certifications, and connections to cooperative education opportunities.
