SOUTH LAKE SCHOOLS Noon Monitor - Koepsell Early Childhood Center Hours based on student needs Job Goal: The Noon Monitor is an integral part of the district's educational program. This position provides supervision, guidance, and support to preschool-aged students during lunch and playground activities while helping maintain a safe, positive, and orderly environment. The Noon Monitor promotes appropriate student behavior, encourages positive social interactions, and assists students in enjoying meaningful group activities and physical exercise. Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong interpersonal and human relations skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children.
• Ability to communicate respectfully and positively with students, staff, and families.

Reports To: Early Childhood Center Director Duties & Responsibilities Include:
• Supervise students during lunch, recess, and transitions while maintaining a safe and positive environment.
• Organize students for entrance into the lunchroom and assist with seating procedures as needed.
• Organize groups for orderly dismissal from the lunchroom and playground areas.
• Direct and monitor the movement of students to and from classrooms, lunch areas, and playgrounds.
• Assist students as needed during lunch, including opening food containers, encouraging appropriate behavior, and promoting good manners.
• Monitor playground activities and encourage safe, inclusive play among students.
• Accompany a sick or injured child to the office or other designated location as directed.
• Maintain records and perform clerical duties as assigned.
• Document and report student behavior concerns, incidents, or code-of-conduct violations to the principal or designee.
• Participate in required in-service training programs.
• Exercise sound judgment in observing, addressing, and de-escalating inappropriate student behavior.
• Establish and maintain positive working relationships with students and staff members.
• Communicate effectively with children and earn their trust and respect.
• Follow oral and written directions efficiently and accurately.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee in support of district goals and operational needs.
Employment Conditions:
• Employees shall remain free of alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout their employment with the District.

ADA Requirements:
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, staff, and community members.
• Ability to supervise preschool-aged students in lunchroom, playground, classroom, hallway, and other school settings.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and move throughout school buildings and grounds for extended periods.
• Ability to assist students with age-appropriate needs and respond appropriately during student incidents or emergencies.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain effective student supervision.
• Ability to read, understand, and complete reports, records, and other job-related documentation.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to attend meetings, trainings, and school-related events that may occasionally occur outside the regular workday.
Terms of Employment: Class III – 1.5 hours per day. Compensation: Entrance Level: $12.67 Maximum Level: $15.30 Benefits and compensation are in accordance with the Paraprofessional Collective Bargaining Agreement.
