About this role
The successful candidate will have responsibility for maintaining public areas across the town with duties including strimming, lawnmowing, leaf blowing and keeping the town litter free as part of the Tidy Towns team. The candidate will also be involved in tasks such as the planting and watering of flowers, shrubs and maintenance of the town's hanging baskets during the summer months, plus general upkeep of all flowerbeds throughout the year as necessary. General maintenance work and painting will be required, as well as seasonal duties such as the putting up and taking down of the Christmas lights around the town, as well as keeping all road signs clean. Other responsibilities will include but not be limited to tasks such as ensuring pathways are weed free and that all weeds, hedge trimmings etc. are collected and disposed of in a responsible manner. Candidates will be responsible for the safe use and general maintenance of all equipment used in the course of their duties, and a full driving licence is preferrable. The successful candidate may also be required to undertake any other project work as requested by the Sponsor Group from time to time as necessary. This position is based in Birr, Co Offaly..
