A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Clinical Research Nurse to join Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is keen to work in research. The post holder will join a team of research nurses who are currently supporting the delivery of commercial and non-commercial National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) portfolio research studies across a wide range of specialties. This role will involve identifying, recruiting and supporting patients through the research process as well as providing support to study teams and clinicians carrying out research. Additionally, the post-holder will actively promote research amongst clinicians, service users and the wider NHS.
The post is full-time for 12 months and based within the Research and Development Department at Lantern Centre, Preston. The post holder will work as an 'agile' worker and therefore can be expected to work from different sites across the Trust on a regular basis.
Main duties of the job
LSCFT would like to establish a Research Nurse post to support research activity across the Trust. The successful applicant will be expected to work closely with the Senior Research Nurse, Clinical Research Nurse Manager, Research Department, Northwest Clinical Research Network and Trust colleagues in order to support the active research portfolio at the Trust.
The successful applicant will be expected to develop and maintain these key working relationships and ensure all studies across the organisation, within the portfolio, are undertaken to the highest standards within timelines and meeting recruitment targets.

Person Specification
Education / Qualifications Essential
RMN qualified. Evidence of relevant post qualification study at postgraduate level or equivalent knowledge.
Knowledge Essential
Extensive Knowledge of clinical research and clinical trials. Knowledge and understanding of research governance regulations and guidance and associated good clinical practice.
Experience Essential
Extensive post registration experience.
