Are you an experienced, compassionate and motivated nursing leader looking for a flexible management role? We are seeking an exceptional Ward Manager to join our dedicated team at Mountnessing Court, an Intermediate Care (IMC) rehabilitation hospital, in a part-time/job share capacity.
This is an exciting opportunity to provide clinical and operational leadership within a dynamic rehabilitation setting, supporting patients to regain independence and achieve their recovery goals following acute illness or injury.

Main duties of the job Key responsibilities include:
Providing visible clinical and professional leadership to the ward team. Maintaining high standards of patient care, safety and experience. Supporting staff recruitment, development, supervision and wellbeing. Managing resources effectively to ensure safe staffing and service delivery. Working closely with therapists, medical staff and community partners to facilitate timely rehabilitation and discharge planning. Leading quality improvement initiatives and ensuring compliance with Trust policies and standards. Promoting a culture of learning, accountability and compassionate care. We are looking for an experienced registered nurse who is passionate about rehabilitation and developing high-performing teams.
Essential requirements:
Registered Nurse (NMC registered). Significant post-registration experience, including experience in rehabilitation, intermediate care, older people's services or community inpatient settings. Demonstrable leadership and management experience. Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills. A commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. Experience of staff supervision, performance management and service improvement. Desirable:
Leadership or management qualification. Experience managing change and quality improvement projects. Understanding of rehabilitation pathways and discharge planning processes.

Starting with NELFT NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
Probationary Period This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
High Cost Area Supplement – Fringe (Basildon, Thurrock, Brentwood, Harlow and Dartford only) This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £1,303 to a maximum of £2,198 p.a. pro rata for part time)
