A rare opportunity has arisen due to promotion in the team, to work in a centre of excellence in ENT with a large team of specialist SLTs and Laryngologists.

We are offering a rare and exciting opportunity for a Band 5 to join the SLT team working in ENT SLT Services at University College London Hospital (UCLH). This is a 1.0 WTE full time post.

We are looking for an SLT who may have experience in Voice and Upper Airway and w to develop their skills.

We will offer excellent opportunities for support and supervision.

You will provide out-patient SLT expertise and be part of an innovative and expert multi-professional team, including 10 SLT's, and 4 Laryngologists delivering care at the forefront of innovative practice.

Main duties of the job

- You will be an autonomous practitioner providing a specialist Voice and Upper Airway SLT service to adults with complex ENT diagnoses.- You will deliver SLT care adult patients with diverse presentations and complex physical, psychological, and emotional needs.- You will be an excellent team player with strong communication and negotiation skills, who thrives on working as part of a large team alongside experts in this field.

Requirements Essential

HCPC licence to practise and eligible for the full RCSLT register BSc. Speech Path or equivalent (including Dip. CST)

Experience Essential

Post-registration experience of assessing and treating voice disorders Awareness of clinical governance programmes Evidence of self-directed learning Pre/Post-registration voice analysis experience including objective outcome measures Pre/Post registration experience in pre and post operative management of voice disorders

Communication & Customer Care Essential

Demonstrates understanding of and ability to manage the needs of patients with voice disorders using counselling skills as appropriate Demonstrates sensitivity to the emotional needs of patients and carers and ability to use strategies to manage emotional behaviour Demonstrates professional and effective verbal and written communication skills including excellent negotiation skills with patients, carers and other health professional staff in complex case management, service delivery issues and conflict management Demonstrates skills in multidisciplinary team working
