Term appointments may be extended beyond of six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, Term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years. Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a Term appointment will be appointed/converted into a Term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications: I have the ability to perform common duties which include assigning and explaining work assignments to subordinates; setting deadlines for meeting mission requirements and monitoring cost estimates of materials needed. I can explain work operations and management programs to subordinates. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.- Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
Major DutiesServe as the supervisor over the Abrasive Blast Section.Ability to plan overall use of resources in order to meet deadlines.Evaluate work operations needed to achieve balanced workloads.Determine training needs for setting performance standards.
