QualificationsIn addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing short term, solution focused counseling for individuals, couples, families and groups of people in crisis; 2) Receiving initial reports and providing safety planning, risk assessment and case management related to child abuse and spouse abuse; 3) Developing and providing treatment targeting at-risk and substantiated victims and offenders of family violence; 4) Maintaining case records, assessments and treatment plans documenting counseling in accordance with policies and regulations. Major DutiesYou will assess individual/family needs and explore basic personality structures in relation to behavior patterns, mechanisms, and symptoms.You will assess and triage clients who present risk to harm self or others, and refer to the appropriate, nearest behavioral health provider.You will initiate, develop, and facilitate group treatment programs to address the needs of families, such as marital groups and child and adolescent groups.You will provide critical incident intervention services, when requested.You will develop and execute short-term, solution-focused NMC counseling treatment plans for those individuals who request such services and who present with commonly occurring life circumstance issues or adjustment disorders.You will be required to hold a duty to provide 24/7 Response for Family Advocacy per DoW regulations.
