Job SummaryYou will serve as a LEAD POLICE OFFICER in the Force Protection Operations Department of NAVAL AIR STATION OCEANA SECURITY DETA.

QualificationsIn order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Performing law enforcement (LE), physical security (PS), antiterrorism (AT), and force protection (FP) functions; 2) Conducting preliminary and/or ongoing investigations of incidents; 3) Documenting law enforcement and security events and the issuance of citations; 4) Distributing workload to junior officers in accordance with priority and skill level. Position is subject to shift work, recall and/or unplanned overtime work.

Major DutiesYou will perform a full range of force protection, anti-terrorism, and sentry duties at installations or activities with significant operational assets.You will explain policies, goals, procedures, and regulations to assigned law enforcement personnel.You will distribute and balance the workload among employees in accordance with established workflow or job specialization.You will perform contingency actions in response to incidents, emergencies, and hostile actions (e.g., active shooter, hazardous materials spill, bomb threat)
