Job Title: Welder - up to $26/hrJob DescriptionThis role focuses on laying out, fitting, fabricating, and welding metal components using blueprints and various welding processes. You will work primarily with structural steel, performing MIG welding and related fabrication tasks while using basic hand tools and measurement devices. • Lay out, fit, fabricate, and weld parts accurately from blueprints and technical drawings. • Perform MIG welding on structural steel components, including welds up to 1/2 inch. • Carry out steel fabrication tasks, including cutting, forming, and assembling parts. • Read and interpret blueprints to perform precise fitting and fabrication of parts. • Use basic hand tools, including tape measures and digital calipers, to measure and verify dimensions. • Grind and prep parts for welding to ensure proper fit and weld quality. • Operate an overhead crane to move and position materials and fabricated components safely. • Assist with small jobs and general shop tasks, including sweeping, cleaning, and organizing the work area during downtime. • Collaborate with team members in a supportive, team-oriented environment, helping where needed. • Maintain a clean and orderly work area and follow all safety guidelines and procedures. Essential Skills
• At least 2 years of MIG welding experience on structural steel. • At least 2 years of steel fabrication experience. • At least 2 years of experience working from blueprints for layout, fitting, and fabrication. • Proficiency in MIG welding with the ability to produce consistent, high-quality welds. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately. • Proficient use of basic hand tools, including tape measures and digital calipers. • Ability to perform welds up to 1/2 inch in thickness. • Experience grinding and prepping parts for welding. • Ability to read a tape measure and cut parts to precise size. • Capability to use an overhead crane safely for material handling. Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Experience with flux core welding. • Experience welding stainless steel. • Experience welding aluminum. • Experience with press brake operations. Work EnvironmentYou will work in a clean shop environment that is not climate controlled. The culture is team oriented, with everyone pitching in where needed, and small jobs such as sweeping and cleaning are shared responsibilities rather than delegated. You will use welding equipment, basic hand tools, digital measuring devices, and overhead cranes as part of daily operations in a fabrication and welding setting. Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Gahanna, OH. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $48000.00 - $52000.00/yr.
