Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within our friendly Pre-Operative Assessment Department at Wexham Park Hospital. We provide a high-quality, patient-centred service for the majority of elective surgical patients attending the hospital, ensuring agreed Trust standards are achieved.
This is a 37.5-hour post, with department operating hours of 7:00am to 6:00pm, Monday to Friday.
We are looking for a motivated and resilient Administrator with a positive, can-do attitude to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be committed to delivering high standards of patient care, and enjoy working in a busy healthcare environment. A friendly, professional, and patient-focused approach is essential.

Main duties of the job The Outpatient Appointments Officer is a key member of the Pre-Operative Assessment team, responsible for the effective coordination of outpatient appointments and patient pathways. The post holder will use EPIC to manage patient bookings, liaise with a range of healthcare professionals, and ensure administrative processes support the timely progression of patients through the elective surgery pathway. The role requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering a high-quality patient-centred service.

Qualifications Essential
GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent experience Competent in Microsoft Office applications
Desirable
Proficient in Digital processes ECDL or equivelant qualification Experience using NHS digital systems (e.g. EPIC)
Experience Essential
Experience working in a busy administrative or hospital environment Minimum of 1 year customer service experience Experience communicating with patients, relatives and healthcare professionals
