POSITION SUMMARY The Global Exercises Manager leads the execution and continuous improvement of FS-ISAC’s global resilience exercise program, supporting members and stakeholders across multiple regions (AMER, APAC, and EMEA). This role contributes to the strategic direction of the global exercises program and is responsible for managing the exercise lifecycle, including planning, scenario development, facilitation, evaluation, and after-action activities. The Global Exercises Manager collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality exercises that enhance organizational and sector resilience, identify preparedness gaps, and support risk-informed decision making.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Support the development and execution of the global exercises program strategy, providing recommendations and subject matter expertise across member-facing, internal, and external exercises. Execute and continuously improve FS-ISAC’s global resilience program, supporting member-facing, internal, and external exercises that enhance operational resilience across the financial sector. • Plan, coordinate, and manage the full exercise lifecycle, including scoping, design, scenario development, execution, evaluation, and post-exercise improvement activities. • Partner with members, industry stakeholders, government agencies, and internal teams to develop and deliver exercises that address current and emerging risks facing the global financial services sector. • Develop exercise documentation and deliverables, including exercise plans, participant materials, facilitator guides, presentations, after action reports, and improvement plans. • Facilitate tabletop and discussion-based exercises, workshops, and other resilience-focused events for member organizations and industry partners. • Manage the global exercise calendar, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities, member needs, and the evolving threat landscape. • Analyze exercise outcomes and develop actionable recommendations to strengthen preparedness, response capabilities, and organizational resilience. • Coordinate resources and stakeholder engagement required to successfully deliver exercises, working closely with teams across multiple business areas. • Monitor and track corrective actions and improvement initiatives resulting from exercises to support continuous program enhancement. • Represent FS-ISAC in industry exercise working groups, committees, and collaborative forums, contributing to sector-wide resilience initiatives and best practices. • Build and maintain strong relationships with member organizations, government partners, and industry stakeholders to advance exercise participation and program effectiveness.
QUALIFICATIONS Required Qualifications • A minimum of seven years of experience designing, managing, and facilitating exercises, simulations, tabletop exercises, workshops, or resilience programs. • Experience coordinating complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, and cross-functional teams. • Demonstrated experience developing exercise scenarios, participant materials, facilitation guides, after-action reports, and improvement plans. • Experience managing relationships with industry partners, member organizations, government agencies, or other external stakeholders. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to translate exercise outcomes into actionable recommendations. • Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously. • Excellent facilitation, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to engage senior leaders, technical experts, and external stakeholders. • Ability to work independently with limited supervision while collaborating effectively in a global, matrixed environment. • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
Preferred Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in business, emergency management, cybersecurity, risk management, organizational resilience, public administration, or a related field. • Experience in the financial services sector, critical infrastructure, cybersecurity, operational resilience, business continuity, crisis management, or incident response. • Experience designing and facilitating sector-wide, national-level, or multi-organization exercises. • Knowledge of financial sector resilience frameworks, regulatory expectations, and industry coordination structures. • Professional certifications such as CBCP, MBCI, PMP, CISSP, or related resilience, continuity, or project management credentials. • Experience working in a global organization and collaborating across multiple regions and time zones.
WORK ENVIRONMENT Employees residing in the Northern Virginia/Washington, D.C. area are expected to work from the Reston, VA office at least two days per week. COMPENSATION AND PAY TRANSPARENCY DISCLOSURES
Full-Time Annual Salary Range: (130,000 -170,000 USD) Individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, business considerations, geographical location, teams local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
Incentive Compensation: This position is eligible to participate in the organization’s discretionary annual incentive/bonus plan subject to plan terms in addition to individual and organizational performance.
