About this role

Press Brake Operator 2nd Shift (1:30 PM-10:00 PM)

Role:

A Press brake operator is responsible for operating the machines and fabricating structural steel to produce a quality product. A brake operator requires mechanical skills, attention to detail, physical stamina, math skills to measure materials, and the ability to maintain and repair machines in a time-sensitive environment. In this role, you may inspect blueprints for a project, set up your machine, perform regular maintenance, inspect metal while shaping it, and adjust as needed. They often monitor supply levels, check the final products to ensure they are free of defects, and ensure work areas are clean and organized. Areas with active press brakes can be loud, so operators often wear personal protective equipment to minimize risks.

Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blueprints/plans for a final product, making relevant adjustments to the machines, and inspecting the final product after production.

• Keep maintenance of press brakes, paying attention to potential defects, and performing periodic checks.

• Ensure that sufficient materials are provided

• Read blueprints from designers and engineers

• Program your machine to fit the design

• Measure the final product to ensure uniformity

• Restock materials

• Perform routine maintenance on the machine

• Operates a press brake to manufacture tools, equipment, and other components from sheet metal or metal plates.

• Prepares, sets up, and adjusts press brake as required by product plans and production schedules.

• Ensures that there are sufficient raw materials available.

• Measures and aligns materials to be used.

• Inspects products, evaluating finished pieces for compliance with quality standards and specifications.

• Performs routine maintenance on the press brake.

• Maintains a clean work area.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

​Expectations:

The expectation for this position is to gain an understanding of press brake operation as related to mechanical drawings to ensure efficient manufacturing processes. In this position, you will learn about fabrication materials and tools, as well as build problem solving skills, while meeting customer expectations and deadlines.

Full Time, Second Shift 1:30PM-10:00PM with overtime opportunities

Required Education: - High School Diploma or GED

Compensation: - $15.00 to $25.00 /hour Dependent on Experience
