EECS Student Shopworker Attendant - Junior Position
Job Description: 90% - Distribute probe kits and electronic components; maintain inventory of kits and stock; medial repair to tools, basic electronic equipment, and accessories; perform routine maintenance, calibration, and verification of equipment; communicate with faculty and students concerning service issues.
5% - General janitorial tasks in work area.
5% - Other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule: Flexible Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 5:30 pm (10 to 20 hours weekly). Not to exceed 20 hours weekly.

Required Qualifications: • Knowledge of basic electronic tools, equipment, and accessories. • Basic electronic theory. • Ability to recognize electronic component packaging (TO cases, SM, axial, raldial, DIP, etc.). • Basic soldering proficiency. • Strong verbal skills. • Basic computer literacy in both hardware and software (OS only).
Preferred Qualifications: • Successful completion of EECS 140 Intro to Digital Logic Design.

Position Requirements: During the semester term of the appointment, the student must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods, the student hourly must: (1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester; (2) be pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours; (3) be enrolled in summer session; or (4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester.
Employment Conditions: (1) Student employees are not eligible for remote work arrangements unless an exception is approved by the unit leadership and HR. (2) This is an hourly/non-exempt position. A student employee cannot hold an hourly/non-exempt position and a salaried/exempt graduate or undergraduate position (GRA/GTA/GA/RUA/RGA) concurrently.
