We are recruiting for a Chemotherapy Administrator who wishes to join #TeamIOWNHS. You should share our passion and drive to ensure that our patients receive quality and compassionate care and work with us to ensure the Trust continues its journey .
The main role will include clerical and administrative work to support the Chemotherapy Department.
The other key aspect of the role is to act as an administrator helping the clinicians in coordination of patients care throughout the cancer journey.
Main duties of the job
The main aspects of this role will be to undertake clerical and administrative duties as directed by the Chemotherapy Sister and Consultant Cancer Nurse. You will be:
Liaising with health care professionals within primary, secondary and tertiary care. Scheduling treatment for new and existing patients for chemotherapy and immunotherapy, checking patients have been consented and treatment prescribed has been prescribed. Ensuring follow up appointments are scheduled with Consultants at Southampton and Portsmouth hospitals. Ensure patient deferrals are actioned and changes to treatments and schedules updated. Book weekend blood tests for patients Triaging phone calls/ enquires, acting on requests and concerns Maintain working relationship with schedulers and secretaries from tertiary centres to reduce risk of delays in treatment. Maintaining high standards of care in an environment which promotes equality and sensitivity for all individuals. To manage own behaviour in a positive manner in order to maintain effective working relationships. and always behave professionally to uphold the reputation of the Trust.

Person Specification
Qualifications and role specific knowledge Essential
Good general life skills Relevant experience, preferably in a healthcare setting. Ability to use Word, Email and hospital internet systems. Willingness to learn PAS and iSoft for clinic management. Experience of direct care in health or social care setting.
Physical Skills Essential
Physically capable of performing the role and responsibilities expected of the post holder with manual handling of patients, movement of patient medical notes and medical equipment.
