Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree.
• A minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience, with demonstrated proficiency in instructional strategies and curriculum development.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations governing curriculum
• Excellent communication skills: facilitation, collaboration, and listening; time management and organizational skills, flexibility, synthesizing and distribution of information; technology knowledge and skills
• Valid Florida Teacher Certification in an applicable subject area or grade level.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's degree in Education or related field.
• Prior experience in curriculum leadership or a similar role within the district.
• Additional certifications or endorsements relevant to specific subject areas.
• Experience in Charlotte County
*Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the superintendent may find appropriate. Performance Responsibilities:
• Models and promotes effective teaching practices and strategies through curriculum implementation and professional learning.
• Assist teachers in interpreting and utilizing curriculum frameworks and standards to improve instructional practices.
• Develops, facilitates and supports the implementation of professional learning focused on curriculum development, instructional strategies, and district instructional initiatives.
• Collaborate with district leaders to analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of curriculum and instruction programs and professional learning initiatives.
• Maintains and facilitates the development of Curriculum Maps, Pacing Guides, and assessments.
• Serves as a liaison between the district and external educational bodies regarding curriculum issues and updates.
• Coordinates, facilitates, and participates in professional learning, workshops, and conferences, that support district curriculum initiatives and instructional improvement.
• Supports teachers in the use of data to inform instruction and improve student learning outcomes.
• Serves as lead learner for the district.
• Provides instructional coaching and follow-up support to teachers and school leaders related to district initiatives and professional learning.
• Ensures all instructional materials and resources are aligned with current standards and district goals.
• Designs and facilitates district and school-based professional learning aligned to curriculum implementation and district instructional priorities.
• Collaborates with school administrators to support the implementation of professional learning and instructional improvement efforts.
• Uses student performance and instructional data to inform professional learning and support continuous improvement in teaching practices.
• Conducts teacher walkthroughs and impact reviews to support schools in identifying the implementation of effective instructional strategies. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
