POSITION: Family Engagement Assistant (EA, 10-months) – Judy Center Early Learning Hub POSITION SUMMARY: The Family Engagement Assistant is a locally funded contractual position that supports the mission and programming of the Worcester County Judy Center Early Learning Hubs. This position provides assistance with family engagement activities, community outreach initiatives, field trips, parent education opportunities, family support initiatives, and other programs and services for families with children prenatal through age five. Working under the direction of the Multi-Site Director and in collaboration with Judy Center Site Facilitators and Family Service Coordinators, the Family Engagement Assistant helps prepare for and implement high-quality family engagement opportunities and assists with activities designed to connect families with schools, community partners, resources, and services. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

• Prepare, organize, transport, and maintain program materials, supplies, equipment, resources, giveaways, and family support items.

• Welcome families and help create a positive, inclusive, and family-friendly environment at Judy Center activities and events.

• Support outreach and recruitment efforts to engage families with children prenatal through age five, particularly those not enrolled in formal early childhood programs.

• Assist with distributing flyers, educational materials, books, food, diapers, and other family resources.

• Support food distribution programs, resource closets, mini-food pantries, and other family support initiatives.

• Assist with attendance, data entry, surveys, filing, copying, and other program documentation and clerical tasks.

• Build and maintain positive working relationships with families, Judy Center staff, schools, childcare providers, Head Start, and community partners.

• Participate in community events and outreach activities to promote Worcester County Judy Center programs and services.

• Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and program information.

• Travel between Judy Center sites and community locations and work occasional evenings and weekends as required.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Multi-Site Director or designated supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Experience working with children, families, schools, or community-based organizations preferred.

• Ability to establish positive, respectful, and professional relationships with children and families from diverse backgrounds.

• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

• Ability to demonstrate patience, flexibility, initiative, dependability, professionalism, and sensitivity to the needs of children and families.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks, follow directions, and adhere to schedules and timelines.

• Basic computer skills and familiarity with email, word processing, spreadsheets, and other commonly used technology.

• Ability to assist with the physical setup and cleanup of family engagement activities, field trips, and community events.

• Reliable transportation and the ability to travel between Judy Center sites and community locations.

• Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends.

• Knowledge of Worcester County communities and available family resources preferred.

• Bilingual ability is preferred but not required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The position requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods; bend, stoop, and reach; lift and carry program materials and supplies; assist with event setup and cleanup; travel between program locations; and actively participate in family engagement and community events. EMPLOYMENT STATUS: This is a locally-funded, contractual position serving the Worcester County Judy Center Early Learning Hubs. The work schedule and assigned locations will be determined based on program needs. The position may require travel between Buckingham Elementary School, Snow Hill Elementary School, Pocomoke Elementary School, and community locations. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required to support family engagement activities, field trips, community outreach events, and other Judy Center programming. APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
