About this role
The Health Care Assistant in a residential care centre should have a good knowledge of person-centred care and an understanding of the needs of individuals requiring support. The successful candidate should have the ability to assist with personal care, hygiene, dressing, mobility, nutrition, and other activities of daily living. They should have a good understanding of infection prevention and control, health and safety, and safeguarding procedures. The candidate must be able to observe and report any changes in a service user’s physical, emotional, or mental wellbeing. They must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrate a compassionate, caring, patient, respectful, and non-judgmental approach when supporting service users. The candidate should be able to maintain confidentiality and respect the dignity, privacy, and independence of individuals. They should also have the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team while also being capable of working independently.
