Job SummaryYou will serve as a TRAINING SPECIALIST (NUCLEAR) in the Preservation Shop (Code 970), Production Resources Department Manager (Code 901), Production Resources Department (Code 900) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

QualificationsYour resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience designing, scheduling, and implementing comprehensive employees' development and technical training initiatives. Experience auditing shop trade theory, core tasks, and qualification records to ensure strict adherence to guidelines. Experience maintaining electronic Mechanic Training Folders and updating annual course schedule databases. Experience coordinating program communications and drafted Quarterly Continuing Training and Development (CTD) Assessments. Experience determining the procurement, storage and use of instructional materials and textbooks, audio-visual aids, training devices, and laboratory equipment. Major DutiesYou will establish metrics to identify material costs expended by each FY for Overhead Expenditures/Labor Expenditures monthly.You will spot audits shop trade theory/core tasks records and qualification records, for conformance with established guidelines.You will coordinate procurement, storage and the use of instructional materials and textbooks, audio-visual aids, training devices, and laboratory equipment.You will maintain a database of Code/Shop including courses to attend, date and time, training taken, proficiency rating of the course, etc.You will support the Code/Shop with preparing Proficiency Course Material, handouts, mock up support set up.You will communicate with other training departments and codes who will support your Code/Shop with data and support as appropriate.
