Job SummaryYou will serve as an INTERDISCIPLINARY PHYSICAL SCIENTIST/ OCEANOGRAPHER in the LITTORIAL BRANCH (NP211), GEOINT ANALYSIS DIVISION (NP21), WARFIGHTING SUPPORT CENTER (NP2) of NAVOCEANO BAY ST LOUIS.

QualificationsIn addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of SPECIALIZED experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience studying and documenting the environment in the Central Command (CENTCOM) Area of Responsibility (AOR) and applying that information to support operational planning using Meteorology and Oceanography (METOC), imagery analysis, and intelligence information Experience utilizing environmental information from imagery and data to provide specialized insight by applying specialized scientific skills to data analysis. Experience communicating scientific capabilities and relevance regarding mission concerns to operational customers. Experience developing data and image processing, analysis, interpretation and reporting techniques. Major DutiesYou will serve as a Regional Expert for the CENTCOM Area of Responsibility.You will be a Senior Scientist and Production Analyst responsible for identifying and correcting deficiencies in various collection and analysis areas.You will serve as a Liaison Officer to the relevant warfighting and intelligence community.You will maintain knowledge of current remote sensing capabilities, environmental quality, bathymetry/hydrography, circulation, physical oceanography, geology, attribution standards, and military operations through various means.You will produce analyzed imagery and text products in support of the Littoral branch of the Warfighting Support Center.You will develop and data products within prescribed requirements.You will brief visitors on department capabilities, demonstrating expertise in oceanographic concepts, analytical techniques, and guidance.You will be able to relate the significance of oceanographic products to Fleet contacts and various missions.
