Job Title: General Production WorkerJob DescriptionThe General Production Worker plays a vital role in the manufacturing process by rotating between feeding finished candy onto the dumping table and inspecting candy quality. The position involves ensuring that all packaged products meet quality standards. Workers are also required to pack bagged candy into cardboard boxes and manually load these boxes onto pallets for the warehouse. Responsibilities • Communicate material requirements to appropriate personnel. • Provide support to machine operators as needed. • Continuously clean the area surrounding the work station. • Maintain general work centre cleanliness, support major line cleaning, and participate in end of shift cleaning. • Resolve jam-ups as they occur. • Record batch numbers and time of day for each new pallet of candy. • Follow and understand Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions. • Participate and support all safety programs, policies, and initiatives within the manufacturing location. • Ensure all packaged products meet GMP and food safety requirements. • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Work EnvironmentThe work environment is a large manufacturing facility that complies with GMP standards, featuring heavily automated and state-of-the-art equipment. It is temperature-controlled and exceptionally clean. Employees must adhere to GMP requirements, including wearing PPE such as hairnets, beard nets, and coats, and safety shoes. The facility houses about 400-500 employees, with approximately 100 people per crew across four crews. The schedule is based on a rotating continental shift, with day and night shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM and 7 PM to 7 AM, respectively. Employees interested in working only days or nights may be eligible for contract positions. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Hamilton, ON. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
