Job Title: Machine OperatorJob DescriptionThis role involves operating a variety of saw machines to cut metal piping to specified lengths and thicknesses based on customer work orders. You will use computer interfaces, follow detailed measurements, and perform basic quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency in every cut.Responsibilities
• Operate a variety of saw machines to cut metal piping to precise lengths and thicknesses according to customer specifications and work orders. • Read, interpret, and follow work orders and production instructions to ensure correct materials, measurements, and quantities. • Use a computer interface to input, verify, and adjust cutting parameters and job details as needed. • Measure materials accurately using tape measures, micrometers, and calipers to confirm dimensions before and after cutting. • Perform quality checks on cut materials to ensure they meet required specifications and tolerances. • Set up saw machines for production runs, including selecting and positioning materials, adjusting settings, and verifying correct configurations. • Monitor machines during operation to ensure safe and efficient performance, and respond promptly to any issues or irregularities. • Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safety and productivity. • Follow all safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment such as steel-toe footwear, hard hats, safety vests, safety glasses, and ear plugs. • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and support continuous improvement in processes. Essential Skills
• Prior experience operating saw machines in a manufacturing or industrial environment. • Ability to accurately interpret and use a tape measure for precise measurements. • Strong math skills, including working confidently with fractions and decimals. • Comfort using a computer to enter, review, and adjust job information and machine settings. • Ability to read and follow work orders and production instructions. • Capability to learn and perform quality checks using tape measures, micrometers, and calipers. • Willingness and ability to train on first shift for approximately 1–2 weeks before moving to the assigned shift. • Commitment to following safety procedures and using required personal protective equipment. Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of York, PA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $24.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
